Kaka‘ako Agora Kickstarter Launch

Date: February 4, 2014
Time: 6:00 PM
Location: 441 Cooke St.

Interisland Terminal will unveil plans for a unique public gathering space in Kaka‘ako being designed by Tokyo-based architectural firm Atelier Bow-Wow, creators of innovative spaces in Mumbai, Montreal, Berlin and New York.

The vision for the space, located in a warehouse on Cooke Street, will be executed through local partnerships and will be the first multi-purpose, free public space in the Kaka‘ako area.

Atelier Bow-Wow founders Yoshiharu Tsukamoto and Momoyo Kaijima are known for creating odd-shaped buildings with innovative solutions for window, drains and air-conidtioning.  They coined the term “Pet Architecture” to describe uses for buildings that have been squeezed into left over urban spaces.
