In conjunction with the Architectural Digest /
Halekulani Living Sustainable Design Summit

Concept

A special program of tours of Honolulu’s architecturally distinctive homes, to complement Architectural Digest / Halekulani Hotel’s Sustainable Design Summit program. Intimate, guided tours will offer visitors an exclusive unique, design-focused inside-look at sites to which access is typically limited. 

IBM Building and the Offices of Ferraro-Choi

Meet at the building at 2pm • 25 people maximum • RSVP required

Joe Ferraro, principal of Ferraro-Choi Architects, will Joe Ferraro will give a talk on the challenges faced in preserving the IBM building (which is threatened by redevelopment) and modernist architecture in Hawai‘i. He will also speak specifically about sustainable design and its usage in current projects his firm is working on.

The Liljestrand House
Sunday, March 13, 2pm
Shuttle will depart from Halekulani at 2pm • 25 people maximum

Designed by Vladimir Ossipoff and built for Betty and Howard Liljestrand, the Liljestrand House is an outstanding example of Mr. Ossipoff's work and of mid-twentieth century Hawaiian modern architecture. The Liljestrand House is listed on the Hawai‘i State and the United States National Registers of Historic Places.
