Uncontrollable Urge brings Dana Paresaʻs portraiture work to focus on a single subject and a single medium - black and white ink drawings depicting characters with paraphilias, delusions, obsessions, and compulsions. Paresa creates an environment suitable to each social deviant, each complementing anotherʻs unusual urges. Seen together, the works in Uncontrollable Urge bring organization to the disorderly, and construct a sense of belonging to an otherwise marginalized group. Uncontrollable Urge is Paresaʻs second solo show at ii Gallery.
